Beth

Dear Diary,

I've just taken my bath. It's very cold in my room. Nanny has just started a fire to warm my little toes!

Today is the day of the first harvest ball. I'm so excited! I have a brand new dress to wear for this special occasion. The dress is a light, pale blue with white lace trimming. It's just lovely! I want to put it on right now! But Nanny says that if I put it on now, I might get it dirty. And then I might have nothing to wear. I'll just have to wait.

It's a beautiful day! The sun shines so bright! There are birds singing in the trees and the animals in the barn are talking in their own language to each other. The smell of the good things baking in the kitchen like the smell of turkey, breads, potatoes, cakes, and pies are so good!

I have to go now and eat my porridge. I'll write before bedtime.

Dear Diary,
Today we went to a jousting tournament. It was quite exciting and fun. Sir Charles was the winner. His opponent was Lord Steven. Sir Charles' colors were brown and green. Lord Steven's colors were dark blue and light blue. Lady Margo and Lady Cheryl were there too. We watched the event from high up in the stands. After the tournament we had a feast to celebrate Sir Charles' victory. We went to bed with our stomachs full. (March 2005))

Queen Gail of Ethics

These are my first words to pen being queen. Yesterday I married King Alfred of Ethics. My Father, The Earl of Yands, and the Father of the king were best friends befored his father died. We have been betrothed to be married since I was three, which was just thirteen years last month. My new husband who I have seen twice in my life is just eighteen. I'm just hoping he has the strength to rule our country. (March 2005))

Lady Alice

What a frightful day! First of all, my dear cousin and sole heir to the throne is very ill! I wish not to be the queen, for I am the oldest next to my cousin, Prince Eric. Mother did perk up annoyingly after the page did come and tell us. She is now gabbering about suitors for me because I am "well into my marrying years!" But, of course there is always Lord Northland, who, by the way, is rather dashingÂ…..
Secondly, that king from Iseboland is threatening to attack the castle if I refuse to marry him. Why would I marry someone who has the nerve to attack my home and demand I marry them? Right now that foolish king is setting up his silly tent to wait outside until I give him my answer. Ha! I shall prolong his waiting by waiting for father to come home from visiting the King and Prince Eric, then we shall see. Bother, I can't even go hawking with that ruffian outside my door. What a horrible day.

This is the diary of my day

Oh, Diary, this day was better than any other! There was a big feast in the celebration of my father's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. I must go to bed now. I cannot wait to see what tomorrow's light will bring! (November 2004))

Mathew

Dear journal,

Today my cousin Rebecca caught a terrible sickness. I have promised to go away on a pilgrimage to the holy lands but now the thought of leaving for the first time in my life makes my stomach cringe. My father is a well respected glass stainer and he has spent much of his money to buy me a horse for my journey. I can not turn back after everyone is depending on me.

Latter to the monastery to visit my dear uncle ensconced in prayer for his daughter Rebecca. Buy the sight of me he is overjoyed and smiles as he presents me with a basket full of food for my departure. He even gives me a jar of honey!

After dusk I left for my pilgrimage. The skies are gray but the moon is grinning at me I know God will Repay me for my deeds.

There was only one proble it was so chilly. So I thought that not very many people would tern up.
But guess what there was so many people I counldn't believe my eyes. I was feeling a nervous when I saw how many people had turned up because they were all here to marry me. Me! Also I was a bit nervous about my Father chosing because he dosen't like the same Princes that I do. I hope he picks the right one.
Unfortunatly, I have to go through it all again tommorow because my Father hasn't found the right one. (November 2004))

Queen Carly

Dear Diary,
It was so hot outside I almost melted in all of my garments! I wish there was a breeze because it would be so nice. Of all the days I had to wear my thickest robe. I hope it's cold tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Queen Carly
