I looked back as
I heard the thuds of semi-automatic weapons. My pistol squeezed
off two bursts and I saw two bikes collide and a barrier unsaddle
the last rider. Suddenly I looked round to see a building. I was
going to crash. Just when I thought my life had ended, I found myself
on a beach.
It was incredible. I must
have warped through the building. It was scorchingly hot with no
sign of a motorbike anywhere. The sand was as golden as a crispy
chip and the two pistols were still in my pockets. I saw a jungle,
misty in the heat and set off towards it wondering what this island
had in store for me.
