Do dragons really exist?

From Mikala, 9, Midland, Texas, US

I really want to know if dragons are real. They are so cool.

From Jack, 6, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, UK

I belive in dragons.

From kathryn, 12, Colchester, UK

Well, do dragons really exist? That is the question!

From Derry, 10, Cullercoats, UK

No dragons aren't extinct (well i hope they're not!) But they nearly are because us humans kill them which is cruel. We should protect them like any other creature. They might be as kind as the dragons in Dragonsville.

From Cat, 13, Stirling, Scotland

Yes I believe they do. And that makes them real.

From Munashe, 7 years old, Manchester, UK

Dragons are very nice.

From Eilis and Danielle, 10 and 9, Cullercoats, Tyne and Wear, England

Dragons are nearly extinct. All because of humans. We humans hunt dragons and then kill them. It's just like dragons killing us. How would we like that? They have just the right to live as we do.
We think that they should be a protected species because they are wonderful creatures and they don't deserve to die. They can fly as high as the sun and moon, they can swim so fast you can't even see them - it's just a great big blur!
This creature is not worth destroying.B efore you go ahead and kill ...think!

From Jonathan and Connor, 10, Tyne and Wear, England

Yes I agree that dragons should be protected from evil people. These wonderful creatures can fly ,swim ,jump, run and climb. These creatures are special for what they do, mostly because of their abilities.
Dragons rule!

From Tom, 10, Cullercoats, England

Even though they don't exist they still have rights so yes, they should get protected.

From Caitlin and Louise, 10, Cullercoats, England

We think that dragons should be protected because they haven't done anything to us. They can also protect themselves with their fire breathing breath. We think the only reason they attack us is because they are scared of us.

From Alexandrea, 9, Arizona, US

I was wondering if dragons really exist and how did they die? Are they really exciting?

From Sierra, 12, Trumansburg, New York, US

I always wonder if Dragons actually exist.
People say they have read books and seen bones and stuff, but is it fake.

From Meghan, 13, British Columbia, Canada

I do believe in dragons. Why? Well...if ther are so many myths and stories, they have to have originated from somewhere. And I've read far too much about dragons, possibly too much. But maybe if dragons don't exist here, they exist in some other galaxy, some other world. I mean, think about it. The universe is huge. We're not the only living things in it...

From Lyndi, 11, New York, US

I think that the human world would be delighted for us to be friends. At first people may be scared because they don't believe in dragons. I believe that you may exist.

From Jessica, 8, Holderness, New Hampshire, US

I think yes because some birds are related to dinosaurs and they are still living.

From Elliot, 15, Oxted, England

I am writing a persuasive speech on the fact that dragons do exist.

People who say that they do not exist just because they haven't seen one are fools! Who has seen an alien? No-one. Yet the universe is too big for there to be only one planet with life on it! Dragons may never have been seen but that does not stop them existing.
Dragons represent the five elements; fire, water, air, earth and all contain a spirit.
Not all dragons fly; some swim, and not all dragons breath fire, (actually I dont think that many do)! The St George dragon probably wasn't how we potray it now, it could have been just an evil phsycotic man who called himself 'The Dragon', or something along those lines. The name then spread around the town and people believed that it was a real dragon, began to panic and then people wrote it down to preserve their memories and feelings just in case they did not survive, or, if they did they could use them as evidence when bragging to their children.

Thank you, and I hope that you will all join me in my beliefs!

From Callum, 10, Nottingham, England

Of course, one mortal couldn't have invented an entire species and thought of their history and world.

From kyle, 9, Scotland, UK

Yes, dragons do exist but not the ones you hear in stories, you know the ones that breath fire.

From Zoe, 15, Arroyo Grande, California, US

Dragons are obviously real. Why would there be so many stories about them? Maybe people don't believe in them now, but in the Middle Ages everyone believed in their existence.
They at least use to be around, and have disappeared over time. That would not be any dragon's fault though, we have destroyed so much of their home. Personally I believe they're still around some place. Scarcely, but around. If we all work together to become like the people in the middle ages they might come back.

From Nicole, 12, Fort Wayne, Indiana, US

Have you ever seen a dragon in your lifetime? Well, I haven't, but I still think they are real. I believe in the Loch Ness Monster, which is pretty much a dragon. I think they are beautiful creatures, from what I've seen in the pictures so far. I think it would be awesome to see a dragon in real life, although I would be very scared.
