13th June 1364

1) First of all you need to prepare the food for Lord Sherwoods party.
2) When you have done that, you need to polish all the surfaces including chairs and the floor.
3) When this is finished, then you can check the guest list and make sure there are enough chairs for everyone.
4) When all of this is done, then look around and do anything else you can think of.

Aloysius,

Please make sure:
That each Lady-in-Waiting receives a new velvet gown.
The linen table cloths are washed and pressed.
The food must taste the best seeing as King Arthur and Queen Guinevere are visiting. Tell the Cook and Assistants to prepare a 8 course-meal for tomorrow evening.
That will be all for this morning.
If I think of anything else I will ring for you.

Thank you,
Lady Eleanor Sherwood

Go tell thy cooks to make plenty of food for thy feast. Hmmmm lets see, we shall have Turnip stew, a roast, the best wine around, and for desert hmmmmm, peach pie shall be thy desert!!

Tell thy maid to tidy up the place. Tell thy butler to answer the door only to the richest.

Make me 120 invitations, come back and ask for the list of thy richest people and write each of their names down on each invatation.

Don't tell Lord Sherwood about the Party.

Cook seagull and peacock in a light butter sauce. Roast pheasant in garlic sauce. Smother birds in seasoning. Make salad dressing and add oil and vinegar. Add a pinch of salt. Get dry white and red wine.

I would like a harp playing while we eat dinner with dancers dancing to the music.

Invite all the people I know and tell them that it is formal wear and there will be dancing, so wear comfortable footwear, but still very formal.

After we eat, I would like a pianist for after dinner and maybe a guitarist and violinist to create music to dance to. I would like tea after dinner, once all the wine has gone.

Christmas Day 1601

Aloysius,

For Lord Sherwood's party I would like you to organise:

The feast: for the feast, I would like vegetable soup for the appetiser with fresh bread. For the main course everyone should have turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables and sausages with bacon. For the dessert I would like us to have fruit cake with custard. They should all have fine wines too.

I would like to invite the King and Queen, and all our well-known friends.

and tell the jester to prepare a performance!

First, make sure the servants clean out the great hall.
Next, scatter flowers and herbs around so it will smell nice and fresh.
The banquet should have pork, swan and duck.
Make sure you have at least 100 good sized fish. Make a model of Lord Sherwood out of food.
Invite all the noble lords and ladies.
See you there!

Dear Aloysius,

I have further arranged an invitation feast for a visiting French Ambassador, Jean-Luc.

Here is a list of jobs for you to do:

1)Please make sure Jean-Luc's room is as comfortable as possible.

2)Make sure there is not a speck of dust in the castle.

3)Make sure to collect the tapestries from the noble ladies and get someone to hang them up on the far wall in the Great Hall.

4)Make sure the servants clean my best dress - the emerald one - and that they prepare my headdress.

5)Invite the nobles, Lord Sherwood's companions, Lucy, Gawain 'Truevoice', the knights and any other companiable person in the area.

6)Don't bother to tell the cooks what food to prepare - I have already had Maid Tracy do that.

7)Ask the Jester to do his latest act and to do some juggling for the guests.

Make you do every job properly otherwise I shall be disappointed.

Yours sincerly,

Lady Sherwood
