Teletubbee Monster
Texas Torture Chamber, Room 3

There is a dark legend about what lurks within the static-filled recesses of the mountains in Television land. Up at the top of Paranoid Peak, many people have ventured and never returned. These are the victims of the Teletubbee monster. Most would think the mere sight of this horrendous, 4-headed, multicolored techno-freak of the monster world would be enough to scare you to death. Some would say those who do die, not having to live with the memory, are the lucky ones.

Three girls, Kelsey, Jessie, and Andrea once went up into the mountain. Andrea was looking for a Wag-a-Bag to buy some Skittles from. She dragged Kelsey and Jessie along with her through the cold, foggy and forested terrain. As the three trudged along, they tried to ignore the sense of impending danger. Then Jessie heard a sound, low at first, then getting louder and more terrifying. "BIIIGGG HUUUGGG," it moaned. Kelsey and Jessie exchanged looks of fear.

"Andrea, something's out there! Please, let's go back now," Kelsey pleaded.

Andrea looked at her with disgust. "You two go back if you want. I'm going to find that Wag-A-Bag!"

Jessie exclaimed, "Go back? There's something out there, what if it causes Kelsey and I to die a terrible, gruesome death?!?"

"That's a risk I'll have to take," said Andrea, and she stalked off into the fog, leaving Jessie and Kelsey to fend for themselves. As they watched her turn into another silhouette swallowed by the fog, they wondered if they'd ever see her again.

As they plodded along back down the trail, Kelsey started her usual whining. "I'm hungry," she moaned. Then Jessie couldn't believe her eyes. "Look, a cream-filled oatmeal cookie! Our favorite!" They dashed through the trees, jumping over debris and rocks, then lunged at the cookie-only to come up against a television screen! They stared, confused at the picture, followed it up over a purple, green, yellow, and red belly, and the eight fiery eyes of the teletubbee monster met their own gaze. Four heads, all grinning, and each with sharp, glistening teeth, that closed on them before they could scream.

Meanwhile, Andrea had given up on the Wag-A-Bag, and was walking back down the path, when she saw slight movement through the fog. There, sitting as though frozen right off the path, were her friends. "I thought you two were going back down the mountain!" She said then stopped short. It was a picture as though made of glass, on a screen. She watched as the picture changed to the message "Prepare To DIE!" and it flashed on and off in front of her shocked face. She, too, looked up into the monster's face, and the truth of what happened hit her. She screamed and bolted down the mountain, with a look of terror that was never to leave her face.

In the following days she seemed oblivious to the inquiries about her missing friends, first from the police and then from the villagers around her. They dismissed her as a victim of her own imagination, the Teletubbee legend had "no basis in fact". She was committed to an asylum where she spent the rest of her life wandering around, striking herself repeatedly and mumbling "DipsyLalaTinkyWinkyPo" or some such nonsense. She had lost her mind, and her best friends, that fateful night on the mountain.
