I'm sorry to hear that the school is closing. I had some good friends not seen or heard from in many years. I was one of the first pupils, transferred from Cottesmore and sent home on the first day as the school was not ready for pupils, much to our joy, 3 extra days holiday. Later I was the first boy in the school, maybe in Nottingham, to do "cooking". I went on to be an apprentice chef at the George Hotel, later head chef at the Stakis Victoria.
