Sheep

By Patrick, 17

They're all so sure
As they dash from A to B
And back again.
So secure in the certainty
They are the most important thing there,
Hurrying about, so full of purpose,
Only because everyone else is.
Sheep.
They make me laugh,
As they clamour and bleat,
The slow and uncertain
Crushed beneath a thousand feet.
Watch them follow,
Spiraling into implosion.
I stand back and laugh,
This Wolf wouldn't be caught dead in those clothes.

Patrick

By Patrick, 15

I, Patrick, don't know
Why I'm writing this poem.
I don't feel like writing this poem.
I have a perfectly good poem
About an Egyptian lion goddess
Reincarnated as a mental patient.
What's wrong with that poem?
I like that poem.
It's too hot to write a new poem today.
It is sticky so
I am writing in my underwear.
I think that is the most creative thing about this
New poem.

This poem is not really a poem.
I like to write about big depressing things
And this is not a big depressing poem.
This is a little poem.
It drools and stares into space.
It says it wants to watch
Cartoons in a whiny voice.

If my other poems were here
They would sigh
And smoke clove cigarettes
Until it coughed.
Perhaps they would give it
Exhausted looks
And roll their eyes
Like me.

So long ago

By Nicola, 14

So long ago you went away,
Each detail of that awful day,
Soon engraved inside my head,
I remember every tear I shed,
Each one for this, a single clue,
I wanted to tell you it was true,
Want to show my heart’s desire,
To tell you I am such a liar.

So long ago you went away,
I knew that you’d be back some day,
Something I had come to dread,
Hide away hope nothing was said,
Fighting against what I couldn’t do,
I couldn’t say I loved you too,
Wanted to show my heart’s desire,
To tell you I was such a liar.

So long ago you went away,
You look at me I turn someway,
Your eyes of gold see mine of lead,
My courage now had gone and fled,
You came back you seem so new,
And yet beneath - I still saw through,
Want to show my heart’s desire,
To tell you I am still a liar.

So long ago you went away,
We grew up and went astray,
I hid away inside instead,
You hid away in your work shed,
I had no courage, had to make do,
When I finally went and told you,
Finally showed my heart’s desire,
Told you that I was a liar.

Fate

By Dominic, 15

It'll be okay.
You'll be fine.
I really do understand
One day, you'll be mine.
I want you now,
But I can wait
Don't cry, my love
I believe its fate.
People don't know
How much I care
Until they see me
Sit and stare
At you, my love.
I stare at you.
Until at one point
It comes too
That one day
When you'll be mine.
It'll be okay.
You'll be fine.

Love

By Dominic, 15

Why are you here?
You don't want to be here.
I don't understand.
You don't love me, your vision, is clouded.
Yes, yes it is.
It seems as if, you also do not understand.

Why can't you see?
It's right there in front of you.
All you need to do, is grab it.
Grab it.
It will all become clear.
It's your right.

What's wrong?
You say you're confused, but it is all so clear.
You want more.
So go get some more.
You don't love me, your vision is clouded.
Yes, yes it is.

I love you too.

In a starry sky

By James, 14

The stars, for centuries they have been a symbol of guidence, from the ancient mariner to the Mian calender. But why do we look up at those awe inspiring balls of light? What reason is there for looking up and feeling safe and warm inside? What is it about them that has held our curiosity for millennia?

Even though they shine brightly, and reveal secrets about the universe, they are destined to leave us alone in a cold dark world; for even as we look up at them, they are dying a bright and explosive death and eventually they will disappear forever from our night sky.

Never to return again....

Lonely

By Lozi, 15

Sometimes I feel like I don't have a friend,
sometimes I feel like my only hope is the place where I live,
the place of an angel,
lonely as I am, together we cry

A real dragon

By James, 14

Deep, deep down in a dark cold mountain, he broods over his hoard of treasure; always vigilant. Hellfire burning in his eyes.... what's this? A visitor? Fool, he thinks that he can steal himself a fortune in gold and jewels from the monster's lair. "SPEAK defiler of the mountain!!" the giant beast's voice booms through the cavern.

"I...ummm...I didn't know anyone was here...."

"LIAR!!! You knew fully that I dwelled here....for this you will pay the ultimate price.."
A deep rumbling rolled its way through the cavern, and from the mighty creature's bowels came a roiling line of hellish heat.

The flame burst from the cavern's tunnel and the intruder's flesh and bones were scorched from existence for ever..... that is the true fury of a dragon.

War

By Dominic, 15

War is brutal
Brutal enough to kill
To kill millions
Millions of army men
Army men which are brave
Brave enough to leave
Leave loved ones
Loved ones which miss them
Miss them so dearly
Dearly enough to shed tears
To shed tears and always think about them
Think about them dieing
Dieing and leaving them
Leaving them all alone
All alone in cold empty darkness
Darkness, Darkness
Darkness without light
Light is vital
Vital to see
To see what is really there.

My Best Friend

By Foo, 15

I have a best friend. He is called Vish, we had a sweeeet summer together before he moved to Southend. I miss him loads and wish he could come back and live near me again. He comes to stay at my house in the holidays and weekends and stuff. we went to see our favourite band 'Blink-182' last week, it was proper sweeeet! We used to walk around the streets in the rain singing our favourite songs and make them our own. We'd never a miss a party cause we'd keep then going constantly. I bought him a monkey called Marcell just be for he left with velcro hands and feet so he could give vish a hug when he's down and im not around. I taught him how to past 'Time of your life - Greenday' on my guitar that song means alot, especially as we are going to see that band in concert in Febuary. Anyways I just wanted to tell teh WHOLE WORLD that I love vish and I miss him loaddddddddddddsssssssssssss.
Bye Bye Boys and Girls Bye Bye...
