Dragon Similes and metaphores

By Miss Reveley's Class, 8,9 and10

The dragon's shadow comes to life like a butterfly opening from its dark cocoon.
The mighty horror gently opens its eyes like a cars headlights searching through the gloomy air.
The dragon explodes through the midnight sky like a blazing arrow,
The scarlet eyes are as hot as the furnace of the sun.
The dragon shoots like a blasting gun, soaring through the sky, like a needle into the mountains.
A cold mist hangs as shiny as the night, heading towards the deserted pale grey mountain,
The icicles hang as delicate and beautiful as a rich mans chandelier.
Below him there are snow topped trees like cauliflower all in a row.
The dragon flies like a shooting star through the Himalayas that are so tall they reach up to the sky, as still as the moon.
The dragon lands on the snowy peak like an eagle watching stealthily for prey,
He glares towards the volcano that is as black as the strike of midnight.
Then suddenly, the dragon swoops up into the air like a dove scattering the people far below.
His tail curls round trees, uprooting them like blades of grass.
When it flies over the cloudy, grey, dull sky, the people fly away like a pebble dropping into a pond making the tadpoles shiver.
He plunges into the ocean, falling like a stone into the glassy fish filled river.
Then, the fierce beast spreads its tattered wings, as laundry in the wind, to speed across the sky towards the dark, deserted wood.
The dragon flies like a soaring eagle over the rainforest fresh from its swim,
Silent flames lick the dead tree bark, the warmth of the sun strokes the dragon, temping him to be welcomed outside.
The scaled reptile is as stealthy as the stars and as fierce as a lion, his teeth are like fifty daggers in a giant box.
The dragon shimmers brightly in the pool of my dreams, then breaks them into a thousand pieces as he silently tiptoes around.
He is always there, camouflaged like a shimmering white snowflake glistening in the wind,
The night ruler throws his mighty blaze of terror and his cry echoes into the forest.
The dragon twirls through the midnight darkness like it is a hurricane ripping a house apart.
He swings his mighty tail around like a furious crocodile doing the death roll,
Before falling deeply asleep as the snow drops on him like a massive blanket.
