The house hoax

By Brian, 13

Justin Brown was an ordinary young man living in the state of Kentucky. He had a wife, one child, and a dog. Just another face in the crowd. One day on his way back from an exiting day at work he noticed something while standing on his hover-way. The space between the ground and his house seemed to be about 3 inches higher.
“What is this?” he wondered. After his thumb left the door knob and his front door rose up he was suddenly not able to speak. Everything in his
home was gone. Even the absorbing carpet was torn away. He rushed to the garage as quickly as he could and was again shocked. His hover-vette was nowhere to be found and his electronic gardening-robot was gone too. Justin didn’t know what to do. Even though his home and accessories only costed about 50 pieces of kryptonite, he was still very upset.
In the next hour, the rest of his family would find out that all their stuff was gone.
“How could this have happened?” Justin shouted.
“Maybe we moved.” Justin’s son suggested.
“No, it must have been a robber.” Justin answered.
The Brown Family decided to hire a virtual realtor to help them look for another house. But before they could make the call from a local credit phone, something strange happened. A bright light appeared before their home. In a matter of seconds they were at their front door. All of their stuff had been returned from something in an object floating in the sky. It was not your usual taxi cab of car, but something of another kind. Never seen before. An alien space craft perhaps?
This event had happened in other places too. Reports from all over had been recorded by police of people having their houses emptied then filled again in a few hours by some strange ship. This event was the most frightening experience since the X-BOMB was dropped 20 years ago. News
cast all over the city were reporting this strange event that has been going on for the past week.
What was most interesting was that the Browns were the only one whose house was abducted in the afternoon. All of the others were reported with the house being dealt with at night.
One night when Justin and his family went out to eat dinner, Justin’s magno-beeper suddenly went off in the restaurant. Justin glanced down to see who it was very casually until he screamed. The message read:
Your house is empty again!
As the rest of the family crept over to hear about the message, John (Justin’s son) almost let out a tear.
“We need to get home now!” Said Justin.
As the Browns sped down the open air, Justin begun to question himself about what kind of being would give him this message.
Pulling up the hover-way, Justin let out yet another scream. Instead of the house being empty the entire home was gone.
A faint figure in the cloud of dust was clear enough for John to make out. It was a small glowing being from what looked like to be of another planet. Justin tried to speak to it but it did not move. Justin and his family stood up the moving sidewalk until they were at the floating base of
were their house used to be. The closer they got to it, the more they seemed to hear the voices of people chattering.
All of a sudden, what looked like a prop exploded and the entire Brown Family, brothers and sisters, were in a great crowd.
“Family Prank Day!” they screamed.
“We got the whole gang together this year!” said Justin's brother Joe.
“So everything was a hoax?!” Justin questioned. “The house, the empty rooms, the creature?”
“Yup.” Joe answered with a smile. “The entire clan helped out.”
John asked, “But how did you do all that great stuff?”
“We used all the latest technology!” Joe answered. “New light visioning 3-D graphics made the house appear empty but all the stuff was really there. Sort of like a mirror pointing in a different direction so it looks like nothing is there. And we made the rise on the house meter 3 inches
higher to make it seem like the house was lighter. It’s all very complicated. But you never even noticed that you went to the wrong house. We thought the movie screen with an empty lot on it wouldn't fool you but we guess it did! Then we sent you the fake message on the beeper to get you guys over here.”
“Man, this is the best joke in the past 50 years. on us. Thanks!” The Brown Family responded.
For the rest of the night the entire Brown family had a small party. That evening they celebrated Family Prank Day together
