I think Sir Dylan escapes by... After he escapes...
By Hayley, from England lifting the grate under his chair. There is a man's hand on the bars of the grate - he has come to help him get away. Below the dungeon floor is a secret passage leading under the castle to the woodland surrounding the castle. Here Sir Dylan's friends wait for him with horses to make their escape to the coast and on to a foreign land where he will be safe.
By Zoe, aged 8 From Nottingham, England First he takes the two benches and places one under the barred window. He then puts the other bench on top of the first. Finally he gets the broom and smashes it against the broken bar, which knocks it out. He then climbs on the benches and squeezes through the gap where the bar used to be. He runs away and hides in the woods in a cave until he is rescued by his gang.
By Jake, aged 6 From London, England He found a group of men to fight the king of the castle. The men that he found lost and all died, however when no one was looking Sir Dylan managed to escape. He catches a boat to France.
By Lane aged 12 from Fairview, Montana, USA I think he grabs the shackles on the wall, then pulls himself up to the window and then he breaks the sticks across the window and goes out. Sir Dylan gets caught by Sherwood's men and then he gets thrown back in the dungeon after it is repaired.
By Amy, aged 11 from Alabama, USA Taking the bench next to the mouse and stacking it on top of the one he is sitting on. He then grabs the two rings above him and swings to the little shelf with the pot. He grabs the pot and jumps down. He uses the pot to start scraping at the wall. He uses the broom to sweep up the debris after he scrapes. (Sir Dylan used to be a janitor, and he always tries his best to keep things tidy.) Eventually, after many years of scraping at the wall, he makes a hole in the wall. He uses the handle of the broom to force the hole open wider. Since he has not eaten in a while, it is easy for the now skinny Sir Dylan to fit through the hole. He squeezes out. The mouse in the dungeon invites all the other mice to come through the hole. They have a party with Harold. When Harold is invited downstairs, he realizes that Sir Dylan has just escaped. "But Sir Dylan!" he calls after him, "all you had to do was say 'please'!"
By Melania, aged 11 from New York, USA Opening the bars under him and crawling through them. He can go under the castle, and dig a hole when he is out of the castle. Sir Dylan will go and join his band of evil and try to force Lord Sherwood to fight. If Sir Dylan wins, he will be set free from the castle. If Lord Sherwood wins, then Sir Dylan will have to stay in the dungeon forever without escaping.
By Matt, aged 11 from Fairview, Montana, USA Sir Dylan escapes by moving his bench under his window. Then he climbs up the chains on the wall and brakes the old bars on the window with the broom. Then he climbs through the small window. He sneaks past a sleeping guard. Next he runs past a jousting tournament. Then he runs through the gatehouse. Sneaks past another guard who's fast asleep. Finally he gets out of the castle. After Sir Dylan escapes he makes an army of his own. He attacks the castle. The battle lasts two days. He lost the battle and most of his men died. The king's men almost caught Sir Dylan again.
By Mitchell, aged 11 from Randolph, Massachusetts, USA I think that Sir Dylan escapes from the dungeon by when the guards come to give him his food he throws his food at the guard. Sir Dylan runs to his house. Many people see him but do not know who he is because he has been in the dungeon for so long. When he gets home no one is there. He stays there for a couple days. The guards inspect every house for him. After the guards find him he is brought back to the dungeon. Then since he threw his food to escape he is not allowed to eat. The guards do not bring him food so eventually he will die.
By Nicole, aged 11 from New Jersey, USA Someone helping him bust out. There is a hand underneath the stool he's standing on. Someone could have helped him maybe one of his men. The king might not be able to capture him again if he doesn't find out quickly. He might tell his men to attack the king!
By Geral, aged 11 from New Jersey, USA Escaping the place without the person who is watching him seeing him. Like maybe when the guard is asleep he can make a hole underground and escape there. He'd probably get caught because the dungeon has a lot of warriors.
By Kelly, aged 11 He could push the stool over to the window and stand on top to reach the window. The window is already broken so he could probably squeeze through it. If the guards come down then he could use the broom as a weapon. Also, he is not alone in the room. There is a hand popping out from the bars underneath him. He will probably find a way to escape. Probably send someone against the King.
By Danielle, aged 12 from Pennsylvania, USA Sir Dylan escapes by just staying there until he is good enough to let him out. If he tries to get out and he escapes then he will get in trouble and the soldiers will look for him and he will have to stay there even more so just stay there until you are aloud out and you will be fine. He will not escape he will be out forever when they let him out.
